I have been a loyal Pita Jungle fan since about 2005 when they opened the location at Scottsdale and Shea. It was close by, healthy and incredibly tasty. Not to mention they use a lot of garlic–one of my most favorite ingredients.

I am loyal also to two dishes on their menu–first is the Lavash Shwarma wrap with Greek salad, and second is the Chicken Combo Platter. Both have intense amounts of garlic dip and are simply delicious.

Yesterday I ordered the Shwarma to go and brought it back to my office. As I poured the dressing I noticed a high amount of splash back when it hit the plastic container and realized I was shorted some lettuce with my order. Thinking I am more amusing than I probably am, I posted this to Instagram/Twitter: (click to enlarge)

Within an hour or so, Pita Jungle Tweeted me this:

I didn’t email Kevin at first–but this morning, I decided to write him back. I thanked him for his great service and follow up and told him I appreciated that they cared enough to respond.

Well Kevin is one determined dude. He wrote me back again insisting they buy me lunch today. I told him I appreciated the offer but it wasn’t necessary and in fact, I wanted to go in today to show my support for their excellent service. Again he replied and told me they owed me lunch.

I ignored Kevin partially because I am super busy today and partially because my point was made, it was handled perfectly and to my satisfaction.

Well Kevin doesn’t give up easily. An hour later my phone rang.

“Hello, Susie? This may be considered stalking, but this is Kevin from Pita Jungle,” he said.

I laughed. We chatted. He again asked if he could place a lunch order for me. He was respectful, full of contrition, and very kind. I relented. He ordered a lunch for me.

Which now explains why I am digging into my Chicken Combo Platter and feeling sorry for my afternoon appointment who has to endure my garlic dip and onion breath. Good thing I have a toothbrush at the office.

So thanks Pita Jungle for proving that good customer service can in fact be achieved through social media.
