When I started this website, one of my objectives was to highlight some of the very best meat I taste in my culinary travels.
I didn’t have to travel far to find this exceptional dish at deseo at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa.
I was part of a fun cooking demo and dinner hosted by Phoenix Bites and the Westin that featured James Beard award winning chef Douglas Rodriguez a few weeks back.
During the demo I was watching his staff prepare this Churrasco steak and I had my doubts.
There was no way I thought I would enjoy the steak due to the incredible amount of varying flavors and ingredients I saw them plating.
I was so wrong.
I would rank this steak in my top 5 of all time.
It was tender and the flavors combined into a Latino symphony in my mouth.

deseo’s Beef Tenderloin “Churrasco Style” is a prime grade, grilled center cut tenderloin, dressed with roasted tomato and horseradish chimichurri. It is served with Peruvian purple potatoes topped with a crab mojo and finished with shaved fresh horseradish.
It’s a destination steak.
