It feels like confession week here at Girl Meats Fork for some reason…I’ve got one more for you all. I really don’t like beer. At all. On a rare occasion (baseball games, BBQ competitions) I’ll have a Miller Lite or two. For the most part however, you won’t find me near a pale ale, stout or hefeweizen. You should be impressed that I can even name varietals of beer.
Seems however, I am all alone and beerless. The vast majority of Americans love the foamy stuff. So much so Arizona is hosting its very first “Arizona Beer Week” festivities kicking off this coming Saturday.
Check out the full calendar of events here.
One event that really caught my eye is called “Pardon my French: Crepes and Craft Beer.”
This event takes place next Friday, February 25 from 6-9 PM at HB Hanratty’s Pub located at 537 E. Camelback Rd. in Phoenix and costs $20 at the bar.
For a mere $20 investment, you will get a 3-course tasting plate of Truckin’ Good Food’s killer Parisian-style street food. You’ll also get to sample 4 oz. samples of four AZ brews: San Tan Devil’s Ale, Sleepy Dog Irish Red, Four Peaks Kiltlifter and San Tan’s Hop Shock, PLUS a choice of a full pint, bottle or can of any other Hanratty’s AZ beers.
I’ve waxed poetic about my love of Truckin’ Good Foods crepes filled with varying types of melting love. I think I could even get into beer if it was paired with a ham, cheese and cheery filled crepe of joy.
Check out this event and the varying other AZ Beer Week festivities. Drink responsibly, and please, don’t hold it against me that I’m not a beer drinker. (Not YET at least…)
I must confess, I rarely enjoy beer myself. You’re not alone! But crepes… mmmmm.
