In just a little over 24 hours, 7 local chefs will converge at 5th and Wine in Old Town Scottsdale and make our world’s just a little more….comfortable.
Indeed these chefs are competing in our first ever Mac & Cheese Throw Down tomorrow, December 14 at 5:30 PM.
You can purchase a ticket by clicking here.
In the meantime, let’s meat the final 3 competitors!
Chef #5: Steven Butler
Chef at 5th & Wine
What Mac’N’Cheese means to me: Cheesy goodness.
Chef #6: Eric O’Neill
Head Chef at Smart Kitchen
What Mac’N’Cheese means to me:
Without being sappy (I would have said “cheesy” but held back the Pun Gods), when I think of Mac and Cheese, I think of America. We have played with this dish which coincidentally turned into a gourmet classic. In a sense Mac & Cheese is another of the culinary ties that bind us together in this Melting Pot of a tinkering, comfort-food-consuming, nation.
I’d be lying if I did not also admit that I think of the taste sensation of the perfect complimentary ratio of cheese to pasta; followed by the smiles of satisfaction of guests and chef.
Chef #7: Kevin Wemlinger
Chef Partner, Fleming’s Scottsdale
What Mac’N’Cheese means to me: Macaroni and cheese reminds me of home. It’s the first food I ever made–Kraft macaroni and cheese in a box. I know it’s the end of a good day when I finish it with a dish of macaroni and cheese. It’s always warm cheesy goodness!
